Why Participate?

An Oktoberfest-themed Pub Crawl for Polio is hosted by Pacific Beach Rotaract, a community-based Rotaract Club for young professionals in San Diego looking to have fun while giving back to their community and growing professionally in the process. Rotaract is a partner of Rotary, an international service organization founded in 1905 that consists of 1.2 million members around the world.

All the profits from our Pub Crawl will go towards Rotary’s fight to eradicating Polio. Poliomyelitis (polio) is a paralyzing and potentially fatal disease that still threatens children in some parts of the world. The poliovirus invades the nervous system and can cause total paralysis in a matter of hours. It can strike at any age but mainly affects children under five. Polio is incurable, but completely vaccine-preventable. Although polio has been eradicated from the Americas since 1994, three countries remain endemic. We are at the countdown to history to ending the second human disease in history.

Grab your early bird tickets now, as prices will increase at the door.

Proceeds from the Oktoberfest Pub Crawl will go towards Rotary’s fight to eradicate Polio, which in 3 countries remain endemic.

See you there!

Oans, zwoa, drei, g’suffa!
