Swapmeet Fundraiser for End Polio Now

Every year in October, the Pacific Beach Rotaract club hosts a fundraiser to support End Polio Now. Rotary International began fighting polio in 1979, and has since helped the global number of cases be reduced by 99.9%. In August, Africa was declared free of the wild poliovirus. But, the fight is not over. Polio is still present in two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The annual End Polio Pub Crawl had to be canceled due to the pandemic, so for the largest fundraiser of the year, the club decided to host a sale at the Kobey's swap meet. We collected donations from club members and Rotarians throughout the district.

The event was a success! The club raised $1,185.40 for End Polio Now.

The Pacific Beach Rotaract Club is excited to host our next End Polio Now event, the weeklong virtual walk from October 24-31. If you are interested in participating, here is the link to learn more about that event.
